I'm considering changing a 2-family into a single family. How will that affect the current property taxes?

In Kentucky tax is calculated on the assessed value of the property. I don't think going from a two family to a single family would affect that so it should be more of a zoning issue. Normally there is no problem converting to a single family unless you're in an area (such as Mainstrasse) that has more restrictive zoning requirements.

I would think Ohio would be similar but I can't say for sure.

We did the same, doesnt affect the taxes from that point but your home may be worth more as a single family and that will change your taxes. If you live in the City of Cincinnati there are good ways to work to get credits for those improvments as well. Good luck!!
