Default Pleasant Ridge--Air Quality?

I moved to Pl Ridge 5 years ago and can't imagine a more desireable location in Cinci in which to live. However, strangely, 3 months after moving here I began to experience dizziness, headaches, fatigue. It has continued off and on these 5 years. If I stay at my parents for a week or so(out in Landen area) it completely dissappears. I experimented and stayed with my cousin for a week in E. Walnut Hills(where I lived previously) and it also dissapeared. Finally, after a year and a half of feeling this way I sold my house and bought another in Pleasant Ridge. Problem still exists these past 3 and a half years.

Please understand that I LOVE this beautiful, friendly, convenient community. Now all of a sudden I'm seeing many 'clean up Hilton-Davis' signs in neighbors yards.

Does anyone know exactly how toxic Hilton-Davis/Kodak really is? Cintas? I've heard a report that toxic waste had been dumped in the woods behind the Ashwood/Pandora circle. Also heard that the closed BP station on Mont was a toxic area.

Also, is there a website that anyone knows about where one can learn of the air quality or pollutants in the different cinci communities? I found one through the EPA that lists chemical pollutants by zip code and it only said that 45213 was a 10 rating(apparently low) for nickel. Norwood had a 1600 for many(I love Norwood also). I come from a VERY environmentally sensitive yet long lived Explorer/Teacher Genotype family. I might also mention that I am never nor have I ever been the type who comes down with flu, colds, latest bugs, etc. Strong constitution but apparently sensitive to 'unnatural' things. Perhaps I should bite the bullet and move to a more rural area. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I realize that Cincinnati as a whole is 10th or 11th in poor air quality in the US, but I love Cinci and will never leave.

Actually this is the first time I've heard about this. I've lived in PR for five years and I haven't noticed any of the symptoms you described. I'll have to be more observant when I'm not in PR. Sorry I couldn't help, but thanks for bringing this to light.

I lived in Golf Manor and went to kindergarten at Pleasant Ridge Elementary many years ago.

Back then there was always a distinctive scent in the air from Hilton Davis and possibly some of the factories along Wiehe. I don't recall anyone getting sick from it but I guess if someone was sensitive to that sort of thing they certainly may have.

We drove up to P Ridge to see some friends the 4th of July. There were signs all over the neighborhood saying "Clean Up Hilton Davis Site...Kodak Plan Is Not Good Enough"

I don't know what is going on

The Enquirer has had a couple stories on this. They are at the closing stages of the clean-up of the facility and the company is pushing for a less than complete job. Pleasant Ridge Community Council has been closely involved in the Hilton Davis and other environmental clean-ups. They should be able to point you in the right direction for the data you seek. PRidge also will catch the scent of the flavor-makers down along 75.

I wanted to move to P Ridge, but wound up in Montgomery. Hilton davis was the EXACT reason why I did not move there.
