My husband is interviewing for a job in Batavia? Can anyone tell me about that area as far as living there goes? we lived in Springboro,OH 3 years ago for about a year, so other than that, we don't know that much. What about housing in the 3-400k price range? Schools? We have a 3 and 6 year old. Thanks for your time.

Default Batavia

You have several options for housing near or in Batavia. If you liked Springboro there are several communites that have a similar feel nearby. Here is a link for schools that may prove useful.

Good luck with your search.

"Batavia" as the ZIP Code goes encompasses a large area that can include anything from Eastgate to Milford to Williamsburg. There's plenty of housing in all price ranges in the area as the farm fields get paved over; it would depend on what kind of neighborhood you want to live in.

Batavia proper is a small village, with a variety of people in it. Some of them are wonderful; some of them you'd want to poke with a stick, just like anywhere else. Batavia used to have a rep of being a "river rat" town, but that depends on one's perspective.

As far as schools go, you have plenty of choices. I'd be comfortable sending my kids to any school system in Clermont County. Do you want your kids involved in a bigger school system, or a smaller one? They run the gamut. Anderson Township (in Hamilton County) and West Clermont are quite large -- each have two high schools and multiple elementaries -- Williamsburg is small. Batavia is in between but growing as those farm fields get paved over; in fact, there's a bond issue on the next ballot to build new elementary and junior high schools, which would be located (on former farm fields) outside the village.
