Default New to cincy

I'm new to cincy and was wondering are there many transplants here and how do you like it so far? Where to for happy hour? How's the job market?

I'm here from Florida and so far I really like cincy.

Came here last year from SE MICH (Detroit Suburbs) - am not living in downtown Cincy - so I will not comment on happy hour ... but job market wise I think this area is much better off than my part of MI.

We are very happy here as well... the terrain is beautiful, the economy is better, and housing is still affordable..

Plus - there are a lot neat things to see and do - even if it just means taking self-guided architectural tours of the city.

Welcome to the area!!

These are horrible places to go to for happy hour! lol ... especially, considering the alternatives ... jlrosen hit on a few nice places.

I would also add NADA and Twist.

InLuvWitFlo, welcome to Cincinnati! I've seen you on the Florida boards and welcome you to my hometown. If you haven't done so already, you should check out:

Skyline Chili - have a 3 way (chili, spaghetti, and cheese), 4 way (onions added), or 5 way (add beans) - it's weird chili, but a local favorite

Graeter's Ice Cream - any flavor, but those featuring chips are amazing

Loveland Bike Trail - a great way to spend the day biking or walking

Montgomery Inn - terrific ribs

Newport on the Levee - nightlife

Sharon Woods, Winton Woods, and the Hamilton County Parks - lovely

Kenwood Towne Centre - one of the top ten malls in the country

Cincinnati's museums - great

Hyde Park Square and Mariemont - charming

This is a great place - except for the weather.
