Reading Tutors in Cincinnati Area
I'm looking for a reading tutor for my second-grade daughter, but places like Sylvan are way beyond my budget. Can anyone recommend any local tutoring services -- or individuals -- who work with primary-school children? Have any personal experiences with them?
Any info would be very helpful. Thanks.

I don't know which school district you are in, but a good way to find a reading tutor is to call the school and ask. Many times teachers tutor on the side. Also if your daughter is truly behind in reading the district should provide her with reading intervention free of charge. Have you explored this option?

We're in Deer Park.
Yes, I have a message in with the school principal. I'm just trying to gather as much info as I can before deciding what to do. Thanks for the advice!

I would also try Kumon, they are WAY cheaper than Sylvan

Sometimes you can find UC students who are great tutors as well. We did that with our son for Algebra & Spanish and it worked out well. The young adults are so great with kids and make the learning fun, at least that was our experience. Plus the students dont charge as much as other tutors we looked into.
