Default Route 28 out of Milford

You might stand a chance of getting some land/house in your price range and a not half bad commute if you look between Blanchester and Milford (more toward Milford) along state route 28. You will be able to get on 275 in Milford, which will take you to CVG, just not in 30 minutes. You will be able to find a house to suit you needs off of 28, because the whole area tends to be rural as soon as you get out of Milford. If you don't get too far out, you will probably still be in Milford schools, which, although dealing with some budget problems lately, are still ranked pretty high I think. Also, none of the schools around there will be "bad", maybe just "rural" and small.

Milford itself is a good sized town. It has a Kroger, a Meijer, a Kohls, several restaurants, a quaint downtown with a FANTASTIC italian restaurant, Demeo's, with the BEST tortellini carbonara. It has a movie theater, hardware store, all the essentials, but the surrounding areas get rural in a hurry, especially east.

BTW, I-275 will also take you to I-75, and I-71, for other commuting issues.

Also, keep in mind that with the housing slump, you'll probably be able to find something faster than you might have been able to a few months ago.
