I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the development of the new West side Mercy hospital?

All I've heard is that they were considering merging the 2 West-Side mercy branches (Mt. Airy and Western Hills) Don't know anything more than that.

I am your neighbor - I also live on Boomer. Did the realtor offer you 200k or the developer? I would love to ask you a couple questions about it. What is the market value of your house if it were to sell in a normal market? I am trying to see how much over the offer was in comparison to the value of your home? The realtor came to my house again today and said several people on our street have received offers. Any news you have for me would be much appreciated!

The first thing I would do if I were you would be to locate an impartial professional to handle the situation - from appraisal to negotiations.

Surely $200k for a property in that location is a good price but -- what is typical for a deal of this nature? $200k seems to be a bit low... also remember, you can alway come down in price; it is extremely difficult to go up. If $200k is their initial offer, I would sit tight.

I look at it this way.... My house will never sell for 200k even in the best of markets. I am not greedy and if I sit and wait maybe they would offer more somewhere down the line, but the fact is this.... 200k doubles the price I paid for my house.. I can pay off one mort. and put 100k down on another house... I do not have to pay taxes since it is the house I live... No capital gains.....
Plus who wants to have a hospital in their backyard.. can you imagine the traffic on NB????

Also they don't need my house to put in the hospital! I look at it like a great thing.
