Default HELP!FAM want to move from CHI to CIN OH!

[SIZE=3]Hello,
My husband and three children are looking to relocate to Cincinnatti Ohio(we are African American). My best friend moved here from cincinnatti and is going back next Jan 2009 because she swears that Ohio is a way better place to raise kids and the cost of living is cheaper. PLEASE HELP. I have been in Chicago all of my life and my husband and I have talked about relocating for years just never knew where and had the courage. We are both 30, I have worked at a bank for 10 years and he has worked in the warehouse/manufacturing industry for the past 10 years. I have some college and I am looking to go back and finish my undergrad degree and he is looking to go back as well. Can someone advise how the job market is in Cincinnatti or Columbus for someone with 10+ years banking experience but only some college and for my husband with no degree and manuf. experience only. Are the colleges expensive? Are there junior colleges? How is the cost of living? In your opinion is it truly a place to raise kids and are there opportunities for a family to have a decent way of life. Chicago is overrated in my opinion, we would never be able to afford to buy a house here unless we moved to the ghetto or the near suburbs. So please help!
Thank you ALL. By the way I mentioned we are African American just to get a stand point from everyone we would like to live in a diverse area. NO ALL ONE RACE. We were both raised in very diverse atmosphere and our kids are being raised the same way.

Stay in Chicago. Now that's a great city. Cincinnati is so UGH!!! We've been here 3 years. We moved from the Northeast. The food is bad, the public transportation is a nightmare, people are rude. Not mention, raceist. I'm a latino who is married to a white guy. So many people around hear start a sentence with , "I'm not a racisit but...". Yes, it's cheaper, but it's not worth it. Our jobs will transfer us again in 2years. Counting the days down. Good luck.

Based on your job skills, I think I would be hard for you (and especially your husband) to find good work in Cincy. I can't say whether it would be better or worse than Chicago, but hard.

I sent you a PM because I don't want to elaborate on CD.
What is your specialty in banking? With the economy being in the toilet I think it would be best to stay put. Especially since you have kids and you may have family in Chicago. You would get a job faster than your husband because the warehouse/manufacturing sectors are laying off people.
