Please don't pontificate my reactions based on your view points.

Marriage is a practical institution devised by those engaged in child production as that happens to be an extra-ordinarily major project -- it can be deadly. Often there is no help offered otherwise.

Nobility requires no law.

So what should I pontificate them on? Do you have a boundary across which you would not transgress? How much would you tolerate in your own neighborhood? Or is it the old If not in my back yard, it is OK?

That arrangement, If not in my backyard it is OK, is one of the reasons we have the discombobulated situation we have in this country.

You shouldn't. We are totally different people from totally different places.

While agree to some extent, you need to be careful that you don't oversimplify. I don't want an airport, a fast food restaurant, an office building, or a 55 mph highway in my back yard either, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't have them. Proper use of zoning regulations keeps speeding cars and noisy industry away from residential streets. Overzealous zoning creates unwalkable subdivisions and sterile office parks.

For adult entertainment, I think we need to take advantage of proper zoning regulation but not take it to the extreme. I have no problem with a Hustler store downtown or a strip club in Covington, but I would not want to see a big box style XXX warehouse in the Kenwood Towne Center or a strip club on Hyde Park square. I think there is a distinction between the two situations and I think there is plenty of room to balance freedom and social values in the middle.

Whether you are only into the long term aspects of the matter or are at some point before even beginning is beside the point. Just because the potentially deadly aspect is out of the picture doesn't change the rest of it. Marriage is a practical thing.

What in your opinion is this "distinction"? People live downtown and in Covington as well as around Kenwood Towne Center and Hyde Park square. To an extent a wider range of humans also go to and fro.

There have been strip clubs in Covington since (and maybe before) World War II. It is part of the place's character. Anyone moving there knows this and bases their decision to live their on the neighborhood character.
