We move from Germany to Cincinnati. We have 3 boys (7,5 and 3y) and our youngest has special needs (no clear diagnosis, strongly retarded in physical and mental development). We know already about the programs that Sycamore and Indian Hill School districts are offering, but we look for opportunities at Hyde Park, Madeira, Wyoming. Any help and advice is highly appreciated.

My kids are in Sycamore, and they are top notch for kids with special needs. How much do you want to spend on a house? Hyde Park is in Cinti Public, which is overwhelmed when you talk about special needs. Hyde Park is also top five most expensive areas in the city. I would rate Wyoming top 3 districts in the city, but housing is also top 5, Madeira is overpriced in my opinion.

Mariemont has the reputation as one of the best special needs systems. And, its a great place to live. Hyde Park is in CPS (Cincinnati Public Schools) which is hopeless for a special needs student. They don't even accept special needs until your child tests about two years behind his peers regardless of demonstrable learning disability. Private special needs is Springer School ($15000 per year).

PS. Springer is great and worth every penny for your child if you have the $$$$.
