Here are some pics of the high water on the Ohio River.

That barge was barely getting anywhere going against the current.

D@mn, that is some high water. I'm sure it's been higher before, but I have rarely seen it this high.

Forecast for next 48 hours are pretty good chances of rain. Btw, Miamitown is under a River Flood Warning for the Great Miami.

About a month ago we started off at the crack of dawn on our way through Cincinnati to Williamsburg. I wanted to take the Ohio River road towards Huntington and we happened to be driving past River Downs. Ahead of us, the sun was trying to break through some thin clouds. There was a river fog hanging thickly across the track that was hugging the ground at no more than 4 or 5 feet. Out on the track, circling clockwise through the fog, horses and riders were galloping along as groups, in pairs or all alone. They looked like brown and gray and black boats surging through a sea of calm. The sun was breaking through and suddenly bathed the whole scene in a soft golden glow.

sorry, I forgot to take the picture.

Great stuff! Since you were in OTR, good news came out the other day... Mercer Commons will start construction early 2012. 3 whole new acres of new development.
