Smile Moving with teens to Cincy, from Shaker Hts, OH

Hi, We're relocating to Cincy this summer from Shaker Heights (Cleveland suburb) with two teen boys and a dog. We're looking in the 250--350k range and need a good, sane school district (not a high-profile pressure cooker but a school the kids can actually enjoy going to) ideally in a community with green space. I'm a horse rider so would like to be close to anything equestrian. Is this too much to ask? Would love some advice!

Default schools and suburbs

We live in Lakota school district. It is one of the best in Cincy. Houses right in 250K-350K range or less.... avg probably 250K.

Mason schools right next door and are also best in area. Property more expensive than Lakota though.
For Lakota schools, live in West Chester or Liberty Township= both areas enjoy Lakota schools.

Xavier Highschool is one of best in Ohio (if you go private). Kids from all over Cincy and suburbs live there. Avoid Cincinnati Public schools

Madeira and Lakota schools differ greatly in size. Madeira is more of a small, close-knit town that is closer to the center of the city, and the schools have some of the highest test scores. Lakota schools are the biggest in the city, and are located in West Chester, which is a very large suburb that is more to the north of Cincinnati, and is rapidly developing. There are two high schools: Lakota East and Lakota West.

I have many friends from Shaker Heights, and I'd say it is more similar in atmosphere to Madeira, where I used to live. Madeira is in the heart of the east side, yet not a long drive to downtown. I am not a fan of West Chester because it is almost entirely new, mega suburbs that have just popped up in the last ten years. Madeira has a history, and much personality. It just depends on what you're looking for.

I, myself, go to a catholic high school which you will soon find is very common. I believe there are 17 catholic high schools in the Cincinnati archdioscese.

Thanks, Kurse10 and Buckeye. We'll take a look at Madeira, and I'm also thinking along the lines of a Catholic boys school. Thanks for the advice!
