Moving to Cinci from "the south"
Its for college so I don't have to worrie about where to live or anything like that. How can I get used to this culture? I feel like I don't fit in, and I think everyone knows that I don't lol. Do you guys have any tips to speed this process up? Tips? Suggestions?

Where are you moving from?
I used to live in the south as well (originally from Cincy though).

Move to Norwood or Hamilton. You'll fit in just fine.

Norwood is my hometown. Used to be known as "Little Kentucky".

UC or Xavier? We have about 6 colleges. This should help with location, because you probably don't want a large commute. Also, what are your interest? Music? Bars? Clubs?

That would be "Nortucky", to you, my friend.
Actually, depending on your love of Norwood, there are different affections for the city. My new favorite is "Nerdwood". HA!!! Not such a bad nickname {if you had to pick one}.
Still the question remains tidewater_boy21 ~
Which college will you be attending?

I moved here after being born and raised in the South. Once you get over the really weird local stuff (Cornhole, Chili, etc) I actually didn't find that huge of a culture shock.
I guess people aren't quite as friendly, and it's hard to come by good Southern food, and it's more Catholic/German than Protestant/ScotsIrish ... but trust me, I've lived in New England too ... Cincinnati is not as different from the South as it could be!!
What have your specific problems been so far?
