Q102 Sucked, Always preferred WEBN or 96 Rock or WTUE out of Dayton....Q102 was too poppy Micheal Jackson type of music.

Pogues and Shillito's were still around and strong then too, along with McAlpins. Great concerts at Riverfront Coliseum, always enjoyed the sound in the arena. Kings Island set the world on fire with the Beast (opened in 1979) but was the main attraction of roller coaster lovers across the land in the 80's. BoBo's and later named the Dixie Rib in Fairfield still had some great car cruise-ins in the 80's along with several Frich's aroudn the area. Loved going to Edgewater and Tri-Sate on the weekends to watch Drag Racing. Reds were still good and the Bengals were great to watch and the legend of the WEBN fireworks really exploded during the 80's. Fun Times.

Thanks Wilson, but those names don't ring a bell either.
I fairly certain about the time frame; 1976-77.
The place was a little cleaner/neater than the other local Clifton haunts.
They were always playing softer music like that Christopher Cross "Sailing" stuff.
I'll try your suggestions on the group and see what they think.

We're 99% sure it was in the building where Hang Over Easy is located.
Had a door close to the corner, and you could look in their window as you walked down the street from Vine.
Either the window or their bar mirror had the etched glass skyline. Dark wood interior, dim lighting, quieter than the average bar place.
And you're right, it's a short block.

.
Not to be too picky, but Q102 was the bomb in the 80's. Why? James Stadtmiller. The Squirrel. No one was bigger than the Squirrel and every remote broadcast he made was a flash mob event without the social media. His famous saying, that [insert name of club] all the girls will be pretty and the men will have good jobs, reflected the mores of the times. I knew the Squirrel and his friendship with Jeff Ruby, Rose, Bench and others made him an attraction wherever he went.

Good times!
