What did she do to improve the university after firing a loyal and talented basketball coach ?
Compare U.C. with other state schools in Ohio.

I think WLW's Mike McConnell said it best; What did she do while she was here (other than fire Coach Huggins)? I have to admit I heard very little about her during her tenure. Frankly, I don't care much for sports, so the Huggins brouhaha doesn't matter to me. But I never heard anything about her accomplishemnts while at U.C. I guess she impressed 'em at SUNY, so "Best of luck to her"...

She got a bum deal at UC. Once she fired Huggins, no one cared what she could do/did do for the university as far as academics, research, student retention, etc. -- you know, the stuff that really matters -- was concerned.

Ok if I erroneously criticized her - fine -- what ARE her accomplishments?
I look at Ohio State and they are constantly expanding and renewing their campus. The selections of courses of study are unbelievable -- what kind of progress has Zimpher done along those lines? Is U.C. any more competitive because she was at its helm?
Our universities are every bit an asset as roads, safe neighborhoods, museums, etc. and whether you like it or not, one facit of modern universites are their sports programs.
When Huggins was coaching, our entire region was excited. People who never even when to college followed the Bearcats; it was a quality of life issue.
What Zimpher failed to realize is that it is so easy to destroy things. If you do so, you better be prepared to build it up again. From my vantage point, she did not do that.

It's Happened
Well it happened.. Huggs is going to the "big dance" and U.C. will be hanging out in front of the big screen television. Thanks a lot Nancy - now get out!
This is SOOO typical of Cincinnati -- we get something special, maybe even world class and we lose it.
Remember Nutone? Kenner Toys? Shillitos? McAlpin Dept Stores? Drackett? etc. etc.
Even the contributors to this forum... Goyguy seems to be a very talented and urbane individual -- would be a tremendous resource in our community - but calls Boston his home.
You know what they say, Cincinnati is a great town to be FROM!
