How is it living in Montgomery? Schools, traffic, people?
We should be officially living in Cincinnati by the end of the summer so that our kids can start the 2009-2010 school year. We have looked at many communities and really like Montgomery. Can anyone share positives or negatives with us? My husband currently works in the city and doesn't want too long of a commute. I appreciate any and all comments.

I have lived in Montgomery for 5 years, and I absolutely love it. We actually just found out we're are relocating to Dallas, TX and I am so sad. I cant find a community close to what we have here. Our neighbors are great, and you can find a wide range of price points for housing. The schools are superb, you will not find this much parental involvement anywhere. Our house will be going for sale soon, so send me a PM if you are interested, I can send you some details. It is very reasonably priced for the area.

Thank you Cincylifer! Best of luck with your move to Dallas--that's one of the places my husband looked at before we got this opportunity in Cincinnati. I am new to this whole blog thing so I don't know what a PM is but I am interested.

Montgomery is a great place to live, raise children, and get an education. It's also a very safe area. I walk at any time of the night or day and I've never had any issues. My house is within walking distance of two parks and a nature preserve. The community pool, which is awesome, and grocery are a bike ride away. I'm a Cincinnati native and I've lived all over the city, but the communities of Montgomery and Blue Ash are ideal places with easy access to the major interstates. If you want to know more just ask. Best wishes!

Montgomery is a great city - I live there and know it very well. Everything you describe is in Montgomery. A strong historic downtown area - and even though progressive, I refer to it as "Mayberry" because it seems like everyone knows each other. Bastille Day is a great community festival as is July 4th parade and Festival in the Park. For fall, there is the Harvest Moon Festival and of course, Holiday in the Village. There is the Montgomery Citizen's Leadership Academy to let residents get even more involved. The city website is great with all this info- www.montgomeryohio.org. Lots of opportunity for citizen input and engagement

Montomery Living
We have lived in the Montgomery area for 20+ years. We live just North of 275 close to the Sycamore High School and one of the Elementary schools. Our kids were raised here. It's a small community, safe and has lots of community events. Most all areas are close to the highways so commuting in the greater Cinci area is not a problem. good luck with your move. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
