Camp Washington Chili for lunch. I don't think the area is bad per se, its right off 75 on Hopple Street, but I wouldn't stick around that area past sundown.
For "chain" chili, stick with Skyline
Actually, I had some great service at a Gold Star in Covington on Third and Madison (I think?) near Mainstrasse when I was in town the last time. Went there almost every night for a coney or a three-way (and returned to Phoenix about ten pounds heavier).
Don't know if its been fully explained yet, but don't be surprised that the chili you receive is without chunks of tomato, onions and peppers and is used as a topping over spaghetti noodles. Far from your typical "Tex-Mex" style of chili.

You know, strange as it may seem, I actually like Worthmore's Cincinnati Chili that you buy in the can. It's better than Skyline OR Gold Star. But it's much more convenient to hit the drive-thru at a parlor, so I go to Gold Star. I think people like Skyline not so much because it's better, but because it somehow seems more "Cincinnati" to them. It's a loyalty thing.

Hey, its 2 different opinions. But you have to admit that in the Skyline vs Gold Star debate - a majority of Cincy would take Skyline. Just the way it is.

This crazy G Man guy is onto something, Skyline is the way to go. Especially if you go at 2 am in a gold Corolla!

I vote for Gold Star. Mt. Adams is nice, there is the Krohn cnservatory if you are into flowers.. if you don't mind swinging up a bit north, there is Fort Ancient(canoeing and bike trails nearby)and a great amusement park(Kings Island).

Yay! I don't feel alone now. Someone else prefers Gold Star. Do we know good taste or what?

Gold Star = Manwich filling.
It just has that extra sweetness that Cincinnati people love so much. Montgomery Inn, La Rosas and Gold Star all have that additional chef boy-r-dee rich flavor that sends most transplants running. I have a friend who is an amazing cook. She married a local and whenever she cooks pasta, her husband begs and pleads for her to add sugar into the sauce so it tastes like what he is used to. Bleccch.

I disagree. I don't find GS to be sweet at all. I agree it has a richer flavor, but in a good way. I taste more of the spices in it as opposed to all the grease in Skyline. I also think GS has less gristle (sp?).
This is obviously a matter of personal taste among us locals, and I completely respect that others have their preferences. I don't seriously look down upon those who prefer Skyline. My words are just in jest. But I do disagree with the assertion that it is better than Skyline. To me, Skyline is more like greasy beef soup.
Now, I do admit I like sugar in my tomato sauce when fixing spaghetti. And if I'm having homemade Texas-style chili, I put sugar in that as well.

You're all wrong. Price Hill Chili is the best. Sunday mornings there are quite an experience. May I suggest a chili omelet?

Cincinnati isn't necessarily, but the statue is in Warren County, which is not just a part of the Bible Belt ... it's a major hub.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
