I was there over the Memorial Day weekend and I would agree with the OP - they actually bake very little bread and nothing that would be considered artisan.

Yes, it's technically in Hyde Park...corner of Madison and Edwards. But Busken does more in the way of cookies, donuts, and cakes. (For what it's worth, their iced sugar cookies are awesome! )

Buskens is a great place for a donut and a cup of coffee. Best choice is glazed cake donut. Bread is equivalent to Krogers, Cookies are inedible. I repeat, Shadeau is the place for bread.

Side note, Madison Rd. Buskens is on the site of the old Albers Grocery store.
