There goes Hype Park picking on Fartsmell again! But what would a family be without its feuding cousins? In a sick n' twisted way I look forward to the one placing bait and the other pouncing without fail, LOL.
With all the $$$ and energy being put into trying to transform OTR and the West End into playgrounds for the moneyed, it comes as no surprise that the city is all over any issue that arises. My hunch is that Cumminsville, Evanston, et al get bumped back on the to-do list in favor of the areas where money talks. That's borne out by the secession talk from Westwood.

Wilson OTR is kinda a "pet project" of the city right now and that is part of the problem.

I have been working since November on one problem property. I had to inform the city earlier this week that the property had changed hands again AND I did the research at a California state website to determine the address provided on the sales transfer was mail drop and provide the city with the actual mailing address of the officers of the LLC! They were getting ready to send the notice to the last owner ( who probably is still the owner) the slumlords have learned to trade their houses back and forth through at least 3 LLC's to avoid having to deal with the city and the city won't put liens against the property for non paid VBML's and such because they are afraid of owning more property, which means we have 10.00 property "sales" and the city is always one step behind on enforcement.

Our neighborhood volunteers are now actually doing the research, checking the auditors website weekly looking for recent transfers in an effort to keep the city focused and on track. We have 20 properties in my neighborhood on the VBML or demo list. 75 percent of them could be restored if they can ever be shook loose from the slumlord system, and I have a small neighborhood. Westwood is huge and I can just imagine their frustration.

Restoratian...I see the property name switching game quite a bit with a few on going rental problem houses in our neighborhood. Funny how the problem houses usually owned by slumlords who dont even live in the neighborhoods and the neighborhoods end up taking the wrap for the crap properties. I would LOVE for the Enquirer to do a weekly whole page where each Cincinnati neighborhood gets to pick a house and the owners names are include in it and what neighborhood they reside in...might make people think twice about blaming all the problems on the neighborhoods.

Notices on LLC's and corporations are effective when sent to the statutory agent who is listed with the Secretary of State. Owners and officers are not needed. The fees and penalties become a lien on the property if unpaid. With a lien, the property cannot be financed without paying the lien off. The City does not have to foreclose the lien. For individuals, notice is effective when posted on the property if the residence of the owner cannot be determined by reasonable diligence.
