Darn! I already have plans for Sunday, August 16th. Can we plan one for September, so everyone will have enough time to save the date?

I'm all for yet another meet-up after the one on August 16th. What about a Saturday breakfast meet-up? That would work a little better for my schedule but I'm certainly open to other options. We wouldn't need to spend all day doing it. Anyone else have input?

We have our annual "Biker's Banquet" at church that day. Sounds like a good time down there. Just know that I will be there in "spirit". Maybe if we could get our house sold and get moved down there it would be easier to join you. Say hello to everyone for me.

This is one of the more noticeable online groups for its lopsided number of lurkers vs posters. Over 700 views of this thread means a lot more people are paying attention than are saying anything. If past experience (the echoing Martino's in June) is any indication, having open-ended hours for things like this is a good idea. That was definitely a less-than-proud moment for Yours Truly, to have folks show up only to find that the place had closed early. OTOH posting a set, limited time frame would've meant they wouldn't've tried. Neither here nor there perhaps, but the cookout I hosted last weekend to celebrate my cat's birthday (17th, thanks for asking) was all the more successful for being on an open-ended schedule. Some people dropped by early and were gone by 8 PM, the two-year-old upstairs was able to have some cake and ice cream before bed, and still others joined the party after 10. Maybe it's just me projecting resentment over a heavily regimented work week, LOL...but with stuff like this I like giving everybody some leeway.
This coming Sunday promises to be the latest in a long line of nasty, Nasty Nati, days - too hot n' humid to think about grilling or yard work, or even to broil in traffic on the way to The Beach or someplace cooler. I'll be on the Gibbon premises ahead of time to make sure they're rockin' the AC.
BTW I'm happy to go in with any person(s) who want to plan something like this down the line. The side I'm on in the city/suburb clash is no secret. It also makes more practical sense to centrally locate an event so newbies in town can find it easily and nobody has to travel an extra long way. But...these gatherings are intended to be laid-back n' casual, bottom line. So if anybody dreams up setting some booths aside at Camp Washington Chili or a Skyline someplace along 275, why not? You can come as you are, and if you've not been in the area long you can find out that a three-way with cheese is not kinky no way. Sticking to unique (or at least non-chain) local business is a goyguy thing, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't support a meet-up at the Erlanger Outback.
SO...c'mon down on Sunday between 3 and 8. Or, if you can't make it or would rather pass, stay cool wherever you are.

Hey,

Wish I could be there. It's hot here in Texas.

Post some pics.

Just got home about 5 minutes ago...I wanted to go back up but was at a wedding shower and helped take items home (not always a perk to have a truck)....I'd love to hear who all showed up after I left....THANKS GOYGUY for doing this! It's a lot of fun---everyone should try to make it next time!
