Here's a great, positive story about Cincinnati from the New York Times.

Every time a potential visitor asks: "what should I do in Cincinnati this weekend," now there is an easy answer. Cut and paste this great article.

Actually, a travel article that does not look like it was taken off of websites or tour books. I have to admit that natives and residents will not know of some of the destinations the author recommends.

I'm pretty sure that's where the author got the info ...
Nice article and great PR.

Do they always have to mention the 2001 riots though? Otherwise, it's a very positve and informative article.

Nice surprise to read that in the Times. I like that the author included the non-obvious.

Pretty much that's the sort of thing people remember. For instance, you can't have a conversation about Cleveland without someone mentioning the Cuyahoga burning, or Ralph Perk lighting his hair on fire, and those incidents were more than 35 years ago.

I love that the article starts with Spring Grove cemetary! That was a strange place to start!

Isn't that the truth. Great article in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette a few weeks ago. Pittsburgh, changing by leaps and bounds like Cleveland and Cincinnati, had an article about its image. It pretty much had a picture of a businessman sitting at his computer, with a image of himself as a steel worker, and he called a myspace type company to change his image. Said something along the lines of... "Excuse me, I have been trying to change my avatar image, but the site won't let me."
People will see cities like Cleveland and Pittsburgh for their industrial pasts over their new high tech and booming medical based economies, and Cincinnati for its riots. Just like back home in Philly... Philthydelphia. Thats how things go for a while.
