Apartment Complexes in West Chester
Hey all,
I just graduated from UC in June and will be moving to West Chester in the next few weeks to start my professional career (will be commuting to the Dayton area). Does anyone have any recommendations on relatively nice complexes in the area? The only real concerns I have would be that it is close to 75 and relatively quiet (popular for "young professionals" I suppose).
Any help would be appreciated, and if there are any questions I can answer that might provide better information in regards to a recommendation, by all means ask.
Thanks (and go Bearcats)!

I don't have any specific reco's, but you might want to steer clear of the complex called North Pointe. Although it looks like a well-kept community of townhouses that appear to be of '70s vintage, there was a heavily-publicized murder there recently. The victim was a high-school girl, stabbed to death during a brawl in the complex said to involve some forty kids. Implied but not stated was that North Pointe is now Section 8 in part if not entirely. Painting with a broad brush is never a good idea, but by the same token neither is ignoring the reality that subsidized housing often brings social problems.
Cincinnati-Dayton Rd (also known, even on road signs, as "Cin-Day") is lined with apartment developments, many of them undoubtedly with vacancies. Do a drive-by along the stretch north of the I-75 exit and work from there.
It may be that you want to stay closer to your "roots," collegiate if not deeper, for the time being. But why not look nearer if not within Dayton? Gas prices are creeping up again, for one thing.

I've lived in West Chester for the past 3 years and lived in The Preserves and The Landings at Beckett Ridge. Both are nice to live in, I preferred the Landings just because its more spaced out and the ponds are really beautiful-also, being your age, I didn't feel like the neighbors hated me for being young which I got that feeling at some other places. The Preserves are basically a swamp. Both places have a lot of kids on bikes and skateboards though which was kind of annoying. Good luck living in West Chester though, it gets very boring!!

CDS86,
The Preserve's at Beckett Ridge are nice apartments. There's a mix of young and old. Very well managed and VERY CONSERVATIVE.

Again, you should look a little closer toward Dayton. The commute will be h*llish (trust me, I've done it many times. Then I moved)
Anyways, if you have your heart set on West Chester, there's a nice complex up by liberty park/Dutchland woods in Liberty twp. Avoid the complex by Maulhauser and the Totes warehouse. Otherwise, PM Wright Flyer for great info on Dayton area complexes.

I would look south towards Cincinnati, its an easy reverse commute up 75.
I relocated to Ohio for a job in WC a year ago and took an apt in the Preserve just to be near work. If you must be in WC, the preserve is a great complex with top notch mgmt.
But really, WC is a place for family focused people with kids and SUVs. No social scene, nothing to do, its bad. The only young professionals in WC are the ones who got married at 22 and had kids at 23. I like in Oakley now and I have an easy 25 minute commute. WC=crappy!!
