Moving to the Cincinnati area... (Warren, Fairfield: home, employment, neighborhoods)

My family and I are relocating to the Cincinnati area from Wisconsin. Or top priorities are a great school district (i.e. nurturing, good education, parent involvement, etc...) and a good, tight knit community. Does anyone have any suggestions?

May I suggest Mason, Ohio. Great schools, diverse population, good parks and recreation, new housing and retail, and nice community spirit. I relocated here 10 years ago and love Mason.

All I know is I have 3 kids in the Mason school system and the Mason school district is full of various races other than white. There are many, many students that are Middle Eastern, Asian, Hispanic, and African Amerian at the school. There are a lot of Indian or Middle Eastern home owners in Mason as well.

Mason schools are about 80% white. That's as diverse as you'll find in Butler and Warren counties.

Many people, myself included, immediately think of racial diversity when the words "diverse population" are used, but if you think about it, diversity could come about in a variety of things, religious beliefs, political tendencies, holiday traditions, recreational preferences, family backgrounds, employment type, etc. Our kids settled in Butler County when they graduated from college 8 and 11 years ago, so we have observed the changes taking place in Warren County and eastern Butler County (West Chester, Liberty and Fairfield townships, etc.). With the increase in population in those areas over the last decade, there has to be diversity there, even if it isn't the type that shows up on a pie chart or in a database.

Oh please ... do you really want to go there? I'll tell you what ... I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and if you want to refute feel free and I'll go there with you... but I'd suggest keeping it factual with links.

Population=white
Religion=christian
Political Lean=Republican
Holiday=wtf
Recreational Prefs=wtf
Employment=Downtown & Uptown employ more than half of the region's workers
Family Backgrounds=white,republican, church goers.

OK. Everyone is equally entitled to their opinion. Now what do you say we get back to the OP's question. The diversity issue came along later.

We are also looking to relocate to SW Ohio, so I have also been watching various posts and posters, trying to get a feel for the "climate" (and I don't mean weather) for various communities. I can get the facts from the websites, it's the "feelings" that I have to pick up from the posts.

I say pay a visit to the schools and neighborhoods and see for yourself. Now I agree this thread has diverged and needs to get back to the OP's original question. I still suggest Mason to the OP.
