Wow, those Western lakes are simply awe-inspiring! However, very few seem to be urban or at least easily accessible or connects with the community. What I personally enjoy about lakes is visiting them, walking around them, or playing in them. If I can't do that then it's nothing more then something to look at (which is equally nice).

Easy to dismiss some of these lakes without knowledge. I know Minnesota is prime for lakes, but I'd rather got to Flathead Lake in Montana for water recreation and awesome mountain scenery.

Huh, Wisconsin has the most entries in the top 10. For me it would be hard to vote for anything outside WI/MI/MN, though upstate NY is pretty underrated.

That's nice.

Because obviously Minnesota is the only state with nice lakes.

Lake Powell is not even a real lake. This list has already lost credibility and it is almost offensive it is included in a list with lakes that are real.

Yeah, having fun jet skiing or houseboating on the waters Lake Powell whilst looking at the red rock scapes and slot canyons would make me easily forget this statement.

I guess the inclusion of Lake Powell is more offensive than including what is basically a small resevoir in downtown Austin and a very famous pond in Massachusetts. I mean what is this, Top 25 Ponds in America?!
