I have a family member in Seattle right now serving in the Navy and they say it hasn't gotten above 60 degrees yet, and it rains like every other day, for pretty much the whole day.

East Coast & Gulf Coast have the best Summers. Long Island to Brownsville, TX.

Some people claim its too humid but to me humid means it's cloudy and/or foggy, not when the Sun is in full effect.

The weather has been horrible in the Pacific NW this summer but it should start warming up and get sunny soon. I have a close cousin in Portland & he loves it but complains that summer is pretty short before it goes back to clouds & drizzle for the rest of the year.

That must be depressing.

yeah portland and seattle are 2 places i would never live b/c of the weather, i don't mind the cold or heat ... but endless days of overcast and drizzle w/o seeing sunlight is pretty depressing. it does that up here north of SF to an extent dec-feb so (but then beautiful the rest of the year) I can't even imagine portland/seattle. being that 8 months out of the year or so.

Sometimes it is the opposite. Cities in the Southwest get complains that it is too sunny especially in the desert regions [Phoenix\ Palm Springs] when day after day are sunny and hot. Summer heat madness make people crave cooler\ cloudy days.

Portland. July/August/September= no humidity, clear skies, upper 70s to 80s with an occasional 90 degree day, always cools down at night but never gets cold like San Francisco. No glaring ozone white sky like LA.
