Coral Reef, the fish that come with that, and larger waves. Of course it doesn't have the Swamps, Marshland, Lakes, or Springs that Florida has. People seem to think those places are bad because they aren't photogenic. Its hard to photograph a flat place without it all looking a little the same but its not and its quite beautiful and has just as much a role in the ecosystem as anywhere else.

However, I just don't have as many connections to Florida as I do to Hawaii. And I love Hawaiian BBQ.
And another thing that's unique to Hawaii that most people don't seem to realize (or probably care) is that there is very much an undercurrent of anti-White sentiment in Hawaii, especially by the Native Hawaiians (not that the local Filipinos or Japanese are much better, at least in my experience)
Racial tensions are simmering in Hawaii's melting pot - USATODAY.com
Life in Hawaii - Racial Tensions
That would probably bother me if I had to live there. However, it wouldn't affect me as much because I'm a Filipino.
Otherwise, Hawaii has a great climate, great food, hot women (especially if you have yellow/Asian fever, it really can't be beat. Or if you like half White/half Asians), laid back atmosphere, etc etc.

This is exactly what I meant when I mentioned the gang problems especially in the predominately native/asian public schools. Obviously not a problem for you if you're Filipino but I don't think people realize this. They think its just a bunch of tan white surfer's and beach volleyball players. It's not.

Why does everyone on this forum hate FL? Most people just hate it because everyone else hates it Its pretty pathetic. There is no reason to hate FL as much as people do on this forum. You can put FL vs Haiti poll and Haiti would win.

Florida was great and all - beautiful water/beaches, beautiful sunsets, and fun cities, but Hawaii's unique beauty and culture is unbeatable in comparison to MOST states. It has all the geographic aspects of FL AND THEN some. (Plus HI doesn't get all that hot & humid the way FL does)
I'd rather live in FL though (due to its location- not isolate) but I have to give this one to HI

The question is "Which would you rather live in?"
You state Florida but then vote Hawaii anyways. This is just irrational.
If the question were "Which would you rather visit" or maybe "Which would you rather live temporarily in, say 10 months" you could've stated Hawaii and voted for it. But how are you going to say one answer then vote for the other.
This is the real reason Florida is losing, people didn't even read the criteria just saw Hawaii vs Florida and pressed Hawaii.

Exactly, you were supposed to choose which state you would rather live in.

I'd like to try living in Florida for a year or two b/c I've never lived on the east coast and have been to Hawaii nearly every other year of my life. But overall I'd take Hawaii in the long run. The biggest downside is it's isolation imo.
I think Hawaii is kind of like CA and FL combined. The natural scenery there is just stunning and there is nothing like it in the US. Florida is beautiful but Hawaii's scenery is just spectacular and on another level. The people are very nice and hospitable too, very different that what you find in Miami imo. The food, culture, lifestyle, etc.. are great. I really love Hawaii.
