i don't think puerto ricans are considered foreign born in the united states because PR is technically a territory of the u.s. rather than an independent nation.

it would be interesting if puerto rican-born residents of the states could somehow be added to the original post in spite of the fact that they're technically not foreign born.

for what it's worth, i do believe puerto rican migration to the continental u.s. has slowed down in recent years, although that's a whole other topic unrelated to this thread.

Yes Puerto Ricans, even if born in Puerto Rico, have been deemed US citizens since 1917 it seems. I remember a New Yorker on a different board complaining about "illegal immigrants from Puerto Rico" and being embarrassed when he learned there's no such thing.

Interestingly at first I thought this was going to include immigration from other states and territories to certain major cities, but it's just about foreign immigration.

I am assuming it doesn't matter as well when the immigrants arrived, since I can picture a number could be people who arrived more than 50 years ago.

Yea, they all settle in Washington Heights (Quisqeya) lol. And Philly always struck me as mainly black/white, with a few Asians/Puerto Ricans thrown in. I only think Haitian when I think Miami and maaaaybe New Orleans.

Lol there's barely any "real" Italians in NYC, literally none in Boston and Philly. Wow.

What about the Koreans in Atlanta? I thought they would make it to the top 10.

All second or third generation these days, I am first born generation in the States, there are a ton of us, but few are moving here, hell when I go back I know why

You can still hear Italian being spoken in certain areas but that too is becoming less and less prominant
