I walk past 4 Starbucks on my way to work everyday, although there are also a couple of other coffee options that are better. I sometimes still go to Starbucks though because I know it will be quicker.

you can, no doubt. I've got my bunn coffee grinder and french press...boil some water in a kettle, pour it in...done. Will be better than any american coffee you get more than likely. What I can't duplicate is the espresso without a very expensive machine. The espresso machines at starbucks are push button anyway and not that good. Not sure why they call them baristas, they don't do anything but press a button. I get starbucks b/c its convenient, they are everywhere, and on the go.

^ I hear you, and I seriously don't ever get a good espresso unless I'm at an authentic Italian restaurant.

There's 78 starbucks in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas... Which amounts to a combined population of ~1,000,000 people. Which would amount to a starbucks density of ~12820 people to one starbucks location. All in all, I prefer the local joints, and only buy from starbucks when i'm traveling through an airport. And I have never bought coffee at Starbucks... Just the bottled teas and fresh fruit.

Oh my, so you traveled as far as 30 miles away from Grand Rapids, LOL, think what you will. We'll just drink the better coffee and leave the Starbucks crap for you.

Starbucks is good. I barely ever go though, it's all too overpriced.

My town just got a starbucks a few years ago. They do okay, but most people here detest their coffee and prices and only go there for one of those drinks they have with the really long name.

is the coffee really that expensive? a venti coffee is 2.00 and refills are .50 cents ...what are you guys getting 20 oz coffee that much cheaper elsewhere? or are you talking about frappucino and frozen drinks? I have never had those except for samples.

More than likely it was an issue of the locals being too smart to fall for a marketing scheme that tried to make them pay triple for the same product which was made better right down the street.

I don't fall for it either.

There are 4 Starbucks in Las Cruces, which means roughly 1 Starbucks for every 23,000 people.
