I've cast my vote for the Mall of America. I visited it for the first time last summer. I walked all over it until my feet hurt. I'll wait until they finish phase 2 in order to visit it once again. I don't know where the King of Prussia mall is.

And yes, you guys can all Google search it, Phase II for Mall of America, then let me know which mall will be the largest in the world.
Is Phase II going to happen? They proposed it years ago, and I *believe* got permission to pass a city-wide tax for Bloomington to help fund it. But then the economy tanked, and the last I heard of Phase II was a scaled back version....and that was months ago....

phase 2 will get built but not until the economy turns around. the mall of america sucks to walk around as it is now because of its size. when i go there i park on the side of the mall i plan to shop at. when the double its size they should put a rail or some transportation options.

LOL, yeah it does get hard to walk around...
I always park on the VERY TOP of the Parking Ramp FACING NORTH, where you get an awesome view of the MPLS skyline to the straight north and then a nice view of the St paul Skyline facing about 2:00....

That's the last thing I heard too.

I think it's all ready to start, I think they just want to start it when there is a more stable economy.

But I haven't been to either, so I cannot say. Toss up for me until I visit them.
Mall of America was NEVER the world's largest mall. West Edmonton Mall, which was built in the early 1980s by the same people who built Mall of America, dwarfs MoA. WEM has about 800+ stores to MoA's 500 or so. In terms of retail square footage, WEM is around 3.8 million to MoA's 2.8 million. And WEM isn't even the world's largest mall anymore. South China Mall has some 1500 stores and is 6.5 million square feet.

Here are the world's five largest malls. MoA's expansion won't even get it into the top 5:

Wrong. MoA was never even close to WEM in size. Whoever told you that lied to you. I've been to both malls, and WEM absolutely dwarfs MoA in size. It not only has 300 more stores and 1 million more square feet of retail, but WEM has FAR more non-retail space as well. Both have an amusement park, but WEM has a massive indoor waterpark too. As well as a mini-golf course, submarine, skating rink, casino, and hotel.
