This is like the ultimate example of the city data density obsession and sunbelt bashing frenzy, Hoboken is a suburb, Did I say suburban? ) “YES SUBURBAN” ) why??? because it’s mainly a “bedroom community” and “commuter town” who give freak that it’s dense. Austin is a “city” A major commercial, industrial and employment area, Hoboken is not. Hundreds of thousands of people go to Austin for work, most people actually leave Hoboken to go to work, most people who live in Hoboken....... works in New York. Then to make it even worse there's more to do in Austin. This thread is cute!

Are you serious? People walk to work, JC, Mahnhattan, it has a vibrant bar and restaraunt scene and is probably one of the best examples of true city life in the country - Have you ever been to Hoboken?
If Hoboken is suburb then so is Brooklyn, Chicago and Phildelphia
You do realize that long commute via path is about 4 minutes
BTW your anti-density mantra is boring
I made this thread because someone stated in another thread that Austin offers better city life versus suburban Hoboken, so if you commute from Buckhead is it suburban? I would actually say sans density those two areas would be similar in realtion to their respective cities
Kidphilly you already know how the buckhead one turned out why are u compareing a whole city against Hoboken what is it that your trying to prove are do here...

This was actually the first thread - and yes the other deteriorated, was not the intent. The Hoboken vs Austin stemmed from a post in thread where someone was evaluating moving to one of the two and a poster said Austin amenities of city life that can not be found in suburban Hoboken. I founfd the post very misinformed.
Hoboken vs Buckhead to me was actually the more relevant comparison as I believe both offer good examples of city living within the US and have many similar things to offer in terms of city life even if their composition is slightly different. but yes it went off course somewhere around midnight last night
No The northeast posters are going to dominate that thread and its going to cause another heated debate.. And all the same things are going to be said nothing different..
