New York has a lot of big buildings, skyscrapers, models, media, & overrated dreams that they force on everyone else (not just in the country now) to get 'em to move there. So yes, Dear, as for supercities, NYC is #1. But as for most important to the country, DC is #1. DC is where the house of the United States of America is located.

Nothing further.

NY is 1st,LA is 2/3 and Chicago is 2/3. After them comes either San fransisco or DC. Clearly a fourth place city. LA is recognized as an alpha city by world standards not DC.

Nyc has a significant impact DC and the rest of america so its best to just leave that alone ,where talking about LA

alpha beta rankings mean nothing about importance, they take into consideration factors like population size and economics (two things that mean nothing to an important city.

One of the smallest cities in the world (and it also happens to be a country) is also one of the most powerful.
Vatican City is tiny, but it is one of the most important city in the world.

D.C. and V.C farts, people listen

Politics has become more entertaining than Hollywood lately. It's more "Actors" on capitol hill than LA.

But then, Hollywood has become more and more political as well. I'm wondering if these two elites are merging.

Many countries are developing their own television industries now. But DC may be the most watched city in the world.

In the end, which one do you think we could live off of when all else fails? LA's entertainment or DC's politics. If LA was cut off, would we be able to survive without the entertainment? If DC was cut off, would we be able to survive without the government? Think about that, then tell me honestly that LA is more important to this country than DC.

Oh, & yes, I fully agree that NY comes first for a "Supercity." But we can live without "Supercities." We can't live without the government. LA would come right after NY as a "Supercity." NY would come right after DC as the most IMPORTANT city to the country. LA is not all that vital to the US.
