And mention how they're 10 minutes away(jerseyans favorite commute number for whatever reason) when in reality they live like 50 minutes away and use the "ammenities" of ny once or twice a year when their friends from out of town want to see something
No trust me I know. And I wasn't singling you out or anything. I wasn't even talking about you, I was talking about the Georgia and New Jersey homers and their constant need to pull up the same tipics to prove "superiority".
I want posters from New Jersey to show what they have in their state for once something nice and unique, IMHO that is a respectable argument.
Like I know access is a great thing and all, but seriously, 50 posts in this thread over the same point "access" and "we have the bigger city Atlanta"???
What about the rest of Georgia & New Jersey. Do Newark, Savannah, Augusta, Jersey City, Hoboken, Atlantic City just fall off the map?
I have seen nice and beautiful pictures of both states, please show the unique and beautiful things to your respective states, not a picture of the New York City skyline or Atlanta skyline, because quite frankly that argument for nearly 40-50 posts now has been overplayed.
I live in New Jersey and can say that it is a great state. I live in a rural area with hills, mountains (or large hills), trees, beautiful state parks and trails, lakes, skiing, etc. With the exception of traffic, I live a very good quality of life here.
Of course weather is a matter of personal preference, but I definetly prefer the climate here compared to Georgia. Our summers are certainly hot and humid, but not nearly as intense or long as in Georgia. And we get the occasional cold front which drops the temperatures and humidity for a few days which is a great relief.
Although a few here will argue, in addition to all the things inside New Jersey, I'd say our proximity to NYC and Philly are a plus. NJ/NY/PA offer tons of entertainment options as well as great food.
I've been to Georgia, but haven't spent too much time there. But I'm sure the state has plenty of great aspects. Southern hospitality, history, culture, Savannah, Atlanta, etc. Georgia also has a lower COL, lower taxes, and probably a more friendly business climate.

You make a valid point that most of each state gets overshadowed by certain things. For instance, I'm pretty sure most people have no idea of just how beautiful and unique each section of Georgia is and the various subcultures in each region. This place is like 5 states in 1. On the other hand, when something like 60% of the state's population is in Metro Atlanta then that's what you'll hear most about. It's just the way it goes.

Yeah people overplay too much, they spend too much time discrediting another persons place that they get such a negative thing going. No one talks about the unique aspects to their location after that.
"Yeah we have great shopping in Buckhead" or "Yeah I have a better view of New York City's skyline than even the New Yorkers.."
Those things might be cool, but nothing worth 50 posts... there are so many other things about the places that one can show forth, for example I took the initiative to look into Georgia and what it has outside of Buckhead... this is what I learned today and something I really want to see.
^^ No one talked about that yet... how would I know if you guys had such a cool looking thing there... because everyone else here is so busy putting down each others place to bring up cool stuff about their own. That's immaturity at it's finest.
By the way lol, what is that thing in those pictures called? ^^
State boundaries are exactly that state boundaries. Is georgia going to let north carolina and florida into the party aswell. How are state boundaries meaningless in a thread that clearly calls for the comparison of JUST TWO states. So NJ is going to take the best amenities of nyc and philly? how could any state beat that. Like come on
And your questioning my new yorkness because i dont care for jersey? how ironic
I wasn't even talking about this thread (that doesn't even make sense since I would've contradicted myself), I'm not slow, I was referring to how people constantly shut out NJ like it's just there and has no real connection to NYC & Philly. That was one part of my post which had little/nothing to do with this comparison. Like what makes an outerborough more tied to Manhattan than say Jersey City, a state boundary? The swamps in Southeast Queens or the forests in Staten Island are more related to The Heart of NYC than a city across the river from it? That's what I was saying.
I don't care if you like NJ or not, but the constant hatred is suspect.

NJT FTW. Primary transportation company in NJ, covers mostly all NJ exit points and regional/city transportation. I believe the largest state operated transport system in the US...I think
