I'm not saying everything on that list is correct, mainly the first one claiming it's the 2nd largest English-speaking city in the world, I thought that would be NYC and London would be #1, or vice versa. But the point is LA is very diverse overall, more so than you give it credit for, and a lot of different cultures are found there.

I know a lot of cultures are found there I never denied that for a second. I do deny it being the most ethnically diverse city claimed by a blog that thinks it is the second largest English speaking city in the world and I do have a problem calling a place diverse when 50% of the population comes from Mexico and then LA using that when they talk about their high percentage of forein born people. Even NY is becoming less diverse with the growing number of hispanics from a select few hispanic countries. It is annoying actually.

Let me put it this way if the flood of Mexicans continues I will just leave and go back to Russia, give up my business and get a normal job. I can not stand it and when I move to Texas in September 1st I will see even more of it than in NY. The government needs to do something about it. I will give wait until the next Presidential election and basing off what happens there I will make my decision to stay or go back to Russia. Go back to Russia something I never thought I would say.
The Ground Zero mosque may also play a role in me leaving. Political correctness is taking this country down.

I'm partially with you on this, but 50% is an exaggeration. It's slightly less than 50% hispanic, and of those, Mexicans are dominant but nowhere close to all 50%. Plus, Mexico is pretty huge and diverse in and of itself so there's variations all around. Besides, with a population as large and spread out as that of Los Angeles, it's possible to have very little intercourse with them if you really don't want to. Of course, it's also possible to have a lot of intercourse in Los Angeles. It's almost tiring.

When will the madness stop? (But since this is a city forum it's acceptable )
L.A will never surpass NYC in anything that matters. (Economy, business, Transportation, Publishing, Fashion etc.) By the time L.A steps up (Or not), NYC would have already done it. I'm also sick of these threads "L.A or NYC. . . Which is better" Its really no contest. Personal preference is the only opinion anyone should need.
Once again, NYC is the definition of a World City. L.A is an example of a typical American city. As for now NYC is driving in it's own lane (As far as America goes).

Saying Los Angeles is a typical American city is way off the mark. Los Angeles has a surfeit of unique attributes from its very bones. The weather, the topography, the diversity (and all the cuisines, events, and goods that it offers), etc.
I love NYC and chose living here instead of LA where I was raised, but Los Angeles is not simply a lesser New York City or a greater ______.

And I some what agree with you. But in my opinion (and from some post in this thread) people will never just, let them be. I said in a previous post L.A is a cool city
and it's amazing. Sometimes people seem to over look little things like that. It's not for everyone, especially me, coming from the city.
I don't think L.A is a lesser NYC, if anything that would probably be Chicago

I hate it, too. Especially because L.A. is equal with NYC, if not better.

From what I have heard there is only one city in the world with every nationality represented and that is NY. Ethnicity means culture or nationality to this source? If culture is what your source's definition of ethnicity is then NY most definitely has every ethnicity represented in it and not just LA like your source also claims.

The Facts are hurting you. suk it up, your the only Ny lover that can't read which was pointed out earlier, yet continue to argue for the wrong reason. I guess any source is better than wikipedia where people can write their own crap and claim it's true. I haven't even dissed NYC yet! Its a cool city but not my type of city. I'm not gonna diss it, but whats your reason for bashing LA? All your dam post are anti LA!
