Austin, hands down!!! Both cities do have good job markets and are about the same for cost of living, but Austin has UT and the capital as well as far better scenery and nightlife. North Carolina is ok if A) you live in the appalacians or B) you live in the outer banks, the rest of the state is pretty boring and ugly which includes Charlotte which is also the capital of nascar- need I say more?
And Texas is home to arguably the worst president in history, need I say more?
I'm just joking around. I actually have nothing against Charlotte and especially its walkable downtown. I just think the term is silly. I didn't vote in this poll since I haven't been to Austin yet.
No jdevelop2 Former President George Bush is from Connecticut and lived in Texas most of his life! lol (I CAN'T ACCEPT THAT POST) I can't even lie though, I did like Bush for a while because the economy was increasing fast but so was/is the debt! But you can't call President Barack Obama the worst president just yet, because hasn't been in the house for to long! In my opinion the best president so far was/is Franklin D. Roosevelt!!!

Consider my post a lighthearted response to to the quoted post. We are still too close to G W Bush's presidency to measure his successes and failures accurately and in a historical context.

Austin also wins on weather, nightlife, and low crime.
Austin, the most maybe only culture in all of Texas. Charlotte is a dump!!
