Why would I deny the truth? I live in Newark!
I'm completely aware of how bad my city can be. So what makes you so sure to assume that I'm denying "the truth" about Philly? You're dead wrong
Truth is, Philly is a great, thriving, historic city (with some rough areas) but overall remains one of my favorite cities, dozens of spots ahead of Pittsburgh. Philly's pros outshine it's crime drastically. You can post all the youtube vids you want- My opinion remains.
And that why you're a cheerleader...Its all your Opinion...None of it is FACT!
UGH!!!!!! WHATEVER - TALK ABOUT WHAT'S GOOD IN THE GHETTO'S....You can split hairs all you want...
I'm not sure what the point of this argument is... if its the ghetto than that generally means there's not much good to be had. The point your not making is whether a higher percentage of Philly is the ghetto compared to the other cities on this list and other cities in general. It's probably about equal percentage wise with Chicago... would you argue that Chicago should be put on this list? Chicago's worst neighborhoods are equally dangerous as philly's and Chicago has more of them. What separates Chicago from being grouped together with Detroit, the 2nd largest city in the Midwest and also a victim of American industrial collapse? Philly has plenty going for it (just like most of the other cities on this list) and I'm sure there's good in the city outside of Center City.
I think the comment was more related to over boosterism of your city. Portraying in ways that seem far over reaching
Kidphilly,
I'm still waiting for another lightning-like response to my question?
If memory (and a brief search for accuracy) serves me correctly, my FIRST post reads as follows...
Thread title: "Very big cities with the least vibrant downtowns"
My post/response: "Downtown Atlanta is vibrant, but its a dangerous vibrancy most of the time.lol Midtown is a lot more tourist friendly than downtown that's for sure."
Does that sound like overboosterism to you, or an acknowledgement of the truth as I see it?
