People from the East Coast move to sunny, warm, open "cities" for the girls, the sun, and the fun. Period. They might also move to LA for certain industries but that is it.

Nobody in NY wants NY to be LA, I can guarantee you of that. NY is the number one city in the US. It has no peers.

I visited both cities frequently. New York is the greatest city in the country, but I would rather live in LA.

No one is disputing NY's position as America's most important and most dynamic city, and most of my relatives come from the NY tri-state area. My parents settled in the NY area initially and because they could find similar work in either NY or LA, they picked LA hands down. Given that they are both expensive, I think that most people, who earned the same amount of money, would also pick LA...and just "tune out" the entertainment industry. The possibilities of places to go and things to do within a 2-hour driving radius of LA is mind-boggling.

Los Angeles. Without a doubt
