I actually perfer Northern California's coast to Socal's. Way more scenic and bigger waves for surfing.

I voted for Florida because it's East Coast. If there was a SoCal beach town that was populated with nothing but people from Maryland/Pennsylvania/New Jersey/New York, that would be cool.

Oh, by the way, does Jim Rockford still live on the beach out there?

Tough one but I'm a surfer and I need waves. I think Florida has year round better beaches but it's just to flat! SoCal beaches are diverse. Plus I want to actually cool off in the water when it's like 110 degrees here. I can't really feel that in So.Flo with it's warm and humid climate along with warm water. You can't really cool off.

Why is this even a thread? Everyone knows Southern California could never compare to Southern Florida! So.Cal with it's yellow sand, smog, yellow grass, earthquakes, and overpopulation, give me a break. Southern Florida has pristine white sand beaches, sunshine, BLUE skies (not grey), blue water, clouds, wind, etc. This is no competition.

It's also a lot colder. Nice scenery but terrible weather and cold, dangerous ocean.

Yea the waves at Mavericks at Halfmoon Bay are massive. The waves average any where from 25ft to 50ft. It one of the most famous places in the world for big wave surfing.
