Waikiki is pretty amazing with the beach, tropical waters, views of mountains and a volcano, high rises, coral reefs, climate, etc...

For beach, I like Kehei, HI, La Jolla, CA. For big city, UWS in NY along central park. For close to Mountains & scenery, Boulder, CO

There are lots of pretty places. To me, what distinguishes the "fantasy" like areas is that they've been consciously designed to seem like a fantasy. Places I'd put in that category include South Beach in Miami Beach, Times Square, the French Quarter, the Las Vegas strip. These are the urban "theme parks" that we have.
