3. Miami
4. NYC
I agree. However Atlanta gets more than most outside of those you mention above.

Yes, Dallas is big on House Music & has been since the late 80's-early 90's when Raves first made their wave in the US.

Now Detroit, that's a pure Techno city. Detroit Techno was HUGE in the 80's-90's & was patterned after Chicago's House Music.

Dallas has spawned House Music artists like Demarkus Lewis & Brett Johnson who tour the world now. Other lesser known local legends like Jeff K, Techno Tony, Rob Vaughn, Funk W, Kid Icarus, Raydar & Shaolin, Dj Love, Dj Merritt, & Dj Redeye are also note worthy.
This is what I mean.RAVES have nothing to do with pure HOUSE music. That is "electronica".Techno is totally different than House.House is more "real" instrumental. The only to Techno is the repetition of the beat.Thats really it.Techno/Electronica is all about the synthesizers or computerized sounds.

The only ones I have heard of is Demarkus and he is good.
Im sure Dallas has D.J.'s That spin house world wide.A lot of cities have that. But where do they play in the city they reside?Do you get big acts to come to town like Frankie Knuckes,Danny Tenaglia,Carl Cox,Marcus Wyatt,etc..?I have never heard of HOUSE music being big in Dallas.Having a place here and there in a "once in a while" does not make a good House city like CHI,BAL,or NYC.,Thats why I would not include Atlanta even though many of the D.J artist do come often. Not Techno. Not Electronica. Not Raves.

I think I understand what you're saying, and by those standards I wouldn't say Dallas is a hardcore house city, but what city still is? House has progressed so far from it's heyday that I think it's harder to come by in the strictest form of that definition.

To me this is akin to asking "What city has the best disco scene?" Well, disco isn't really a relevant genre anymore i.e. you don't have artists that make strictly disco music. That's not to say you won't find music with disco influences, in fact (as you know I'm sure, just stating this for general purposes) we even have disco house. Art, and therefore music is progressive and evolves. House as it is today is no longer house as we remember. Some of it does stick to the more traditional formulas, but usually there are some differences whether it be using more electronic synths, new uses of basslines, kicks, effects etc. Also, it would be harder to find house made in this traditional sense because it's not fresh and new. You won't find many producers creating this same sound because it's already been done. Honestly, I don't hear much house like this anymore and my experiences with electronic music go far beyond the local meaning I listen to a lot of blogs and stations with the newest tracks being produced from all around.

Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is, I think any of those other subsets of house are just as valid as being HOUSE music, so yes, you can find a lot of that in this city.

I'm not saying disco is relevant again in the sense it was 35 years ago, but there are many artists who produce disco exclusively. The first one that comes to mind is Escort. They're an 18 piece disco band from Brooklyn with a truck load of singles released in the past 5 years. There are countless other producers using technology to produce very authentic disco tracks. I'm not talking about disco house. Dj Harvey (UK) still spins disco. Caught him last summer. Wicked time.
