Default Which of these southern cities offer the best college life.

I always see post about which college town this.. and which college town that.., but they usually refer to small towns in the middle of nowhere that depend on the college or university for it's survival. I'm curious as to how people feel about the larger cities that offer a list of institutions as well as a variety of entertainment and/or career opportunities. I started to add cities from other regions like Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, New York, etc. but I don't want the thread to turn ugly so I'll keep it southern.

Which of the cities do you think offer the best life for the college student in terms of course offerings, entertainment/nightlife, career development opportunities, and whatever else you can think of. Of course, different cities will be more or less suitable for different types of students.

University of Miami. The entire city is one huge party city, like straight up. Miami for the win! Only because Austin is not on the list, because Austin PWNS!

Atlanta is the runner up!

You missed the first two sentences of the first post. Traditional college towns are being excluded here.

Since career opportunities are part of the mix here, I'll put Atlanta and Nashville on top here.

Same for Austin, economically one of the healthiest cities right now to get a job for young professionals.

Athens would be a better city for college life in Georgia.

Very true; I would have put it in the top tier had it been among the options listed.
