On my observation people in California don't care for anything outside of the state.(our arrogance)- Kind of like LA and NY. I've notice nobody in LA cares about what happens in NYC and nobody in NYC cares for what happening in LA.

Again, the East Coast is far, far more influential than California and the entire West Coast. Fact. New York City's total GDP alone, with its much smaller population rivals that of the State of California.

I don't know how you can assert that when it is not true. Yes, our nation's capitol is Washington DC and NYC is without doubt the most populous city in north America. But both cities as well as the other major East Coast cities can not compare to California in terms of influence on America. California is where the Internet, television, movies, music, cultural trends occur. Name one other state that even comes close to the magnitude that California has on the nation and the world? Good luck.

You're talking about pop culture, which is nice for short-term entertainment. But not given much importance or taken seriously beyond that.

Seriously, how about Finance, Govt, Pharmaceuticals, Media etc. The economy of just the bos Wash Corrider (the size roughly of just LA and San Diego) is more than twice that of all of CA - CA is substantial but to assert it dwarfs the NE corrider is really uninformed...
Just like everything else the business of money trumps all others, they don't exist without the money or the Gov't and defense which provides the freedom to use it.
I agree as a state it would be tops as a region it isnt even close.

Another export from Los Angeles to the world is pornography; one of the largest industries in America!

Here, I'll give you some fresh bait: LA is the most important city in the country, aside from NYC. The rest of the country is intimidated by the importance and cultural relevance of this amazing, beautiful place, and they feel threatened by it. So, they lash out in hissy-fits and try to talk down on it to cover up their own insecurities and ignorance.
OK, go!

this is turning into a fued with NY and LA. Who the heck brought NY into this Conversation? It's already annoying enough comparing the two. One gets kisses and the other some say is Hell hole!

Boy a lot of very influential well-known people must be blind that they are living in a "Hell hole" See, it's that kind of mindless comment that lowers the discussion to juvenile name-calling devoid of thoughtful discourse. Plus, I've notice you have only a few dozen posts yet seem very active on this subject; you wouldn't be a formerly banned poster re-emerging again, would you?

If that line of reasoning works for you, it works for me too. Just look at all the hate filled threads about the south in this forum, people must be really intimidated by how awesome it is.

Laughable LOL
No one cares about LA outside of Angelinos and I dont have reason to feel intimidated by poor dumpy LA, NY stands on top of the country LA needs to bring CA in to even be considered.

Why respect a city that deserves none to begin with? You cant even dream to call that suburban wasteland a city
You Angelinos are so proud to be the top producers for porno flicks, and then you ask why people laugh and dont respect you LOL
