Yeah, that's what I was saying. Washington, D.C. (and its immediate area) is the only city that has been the seat of government of United States presidents, congresspersons, senators and supreme court justices. I'm not aware of any other city which has since the U.S. has been one nation.

Yes, of course. And the Constitution assigns Washington, D.C. as the seat of our federal goverment.

Don't get me wrong though. I'm an east-coast homer. :-) I fully recognize the enormous importance of these cities in our history.

I had already listed Miami at 5 but I removed it and put in DC instead. I don't do US beaches if that is what you are doing comparing miami with Galveston. I had listed Miami for its atmosphere, not its beaches
