Being a US naturalized citizen living out of the US (and trying to find a city to come back to) I have researched virtually hundreds of cities. City-Data.com has been a great tool for me, for it gives you the population by racial group. You can also find information on You Tube for a particular city you are interested in. Even in Florida you can find areas where Latinos or colored people are not welcome. I visited Venice Island, FL, for instance. Man! You can breath the racism in that place. We drove in and left in lest than 30 minutes and swore never to come even near that place. The Naples, Bonita Springs area is totally the opposite. I have never met nicer people than those who live in those areas. The problem is that those are retired people's cities, and a tourist's place, so the good jobs are already taken by people that do not want to leave that paradise. If you are of retirement age and can afford it, no problem. The Fort Lauderdale area is also a friendly place, but there are areas you want to stay away from and then there is the Florida East coast traffic. It was a nightmare driving there! Then there is Delray Beach and Boca Raton which are the same as Naples. The best thing to do is, if you are thinking of moving to a particular area, is to rent for a few months; feel the vibes; and then, make your decision.
