My wife and best friend is from Cleveland, and I've been there enough to know if I lived there I would have tremendous pride for my city.....unlike Columbus, which I didn't care for but don't hate either.
OP--
you should have listed my city: Rochester, NY. Although, I sure as hell wouldn't have voted for it.
also, why no mention of Gary? i mean Gary is no more hopeless than Flint!
That's why I put the other/specify option...hard to remember/get every single one
Gary is rough. VERY. I don't think it's even sniffing rebound. I should have included it, I guess...but it would probably have 0 votes, lol.
2 more I should have included are Akron and Youngstown, OH
Maybe Dayton didn't even belong on the list...sure, it's lost population, but it has a lot of potential with the aerospace/scientific type field and even though it's shrunk, is still a decent city overall.
I think Cleveland residents should take pride in the work being done to help revitalize the city.

Another one I should have included would be Youngstown, OH
lol..yeah adding Gary would have just taken up space.
I gave flint a sympathy vote. realistically, I'd probably bet on Cleveland.

Funny you mention that, because everyone I met from Youngstown had ZERO PRIDE in their city. It's pretty bad there, but the word is it may be re-inventing itself and I'm really interested to see if it works! I mean complete revitalization here, the first of its kind.
I should also add, Cleveland has a pretty popular TV sitcom portraying it in a positive light and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, great art museum that's expanding, and fantastic healthcare system with Cleveland Clinic and University, which is also expanding. Could add to the "pride."
Never been there, but Youngstown looks pretty sad. They don't really look like they have much going for them at all.
sorry i didn't finish editing before you quoted me 585...

^Somebody -- anybody -- with initiative Gooogle "Youngstown + Revitalization" and you'll see SOMETHIING about what the city is doing to completely change sexes, so to speak. I am actually rooting hard for Youngstown and after reading some of this stuff.... thought for a second about moving there and making a difference.....then I sobered up!
I do live in Youngstown, (really, in Youngstown, not just a suburb) and I wasn't born here. I'm really excited about the general direction the city is taking. Sure, we aren't seeing nearly as much development as Cleveland yet, but Cleveland is about 6x larger, and has been working on their renaissance since the early 90's. We've only been working on ours since 2004 or so.
If you don't believe me, I can start posting pictures to paint Youngstown in a different light.
