I've voting for the Twin Cities, because I am a total homer and can't stomach the thought of living in a place as overpopulated and dense as NYC.

why are you comparing the twin cities to newyork? newyork wins in every catagory. athough i have never been to newyork its not two much of a comparison. i have no desire to ever go to newyork either but there is no reason to compare the two.

I love Minneapolis (from there, and live there at the moment), but if I could afford it would take NYC -- I like a big city, the bigger the better, and Minneapolis isn't big or bustling enough to really fit the bill. For many people, though, Minneapolis would be a far better fit; it still has a fair number of big city amenities, yet is FAR more affordable. And for people who want to have their cake and eat it too, especially when it comes to housing, you can live in a fairly affordable house or duplex with a yard in an urban area of Minneapolis and still be able to walk everywhere and live without a car. It's certainly no NYC, but it's a nice city if you can't afford New York. And with all the money you save with cost of living there's more free money to travel.

Twin Cities rock. Haven't been to NYC so I can't say.

My vote goes to Minneapolis. Almost landed a job there last year but was a little late on learning about it (I knew the person hiring but they already signed someone a week before I called up). I'm still hoping to go to UMinn for a PhD and then stay there.

It's got just as good if not better industry for my field and fits my lifestyle much better than NYC.

The poll says "Which you like better?" so I don't see what the issue is.

New York does city on an incomperably higher level. On the other hand the socieo-economic arrangements in the Twin Cities are much more equitable and the econony is stronger for the average person. Flash and sizzle vs money in the pocket and quality of life.
