if you are looking for the larger and more urban of the two, then st. louis. san antonio is also pleasant. these are two very different kinds of cities.

San Antonio UA (Scale 65 miles across population 1.4 Million)



St Louis UA (Scale 185 miles across population 2.1 Million)

Well one city is 410 sq miles and the other is 64, not sure how to compare two places that much different in size in terms of population. the UA above is a like comparator on urban development

And by city. Regardless of what the stats say, visit StL and visit SA. Both the central city and the metro of StL feel considerably larger and more urban than the city or metro of SA.

SA is a great city to visit, but I would choose StL as a city to live. There is more to do, it's central to more of the country etc.

Uh, no.... Just because a city feels larger doesn't mean it actually is.
That's just like saying a movie has a chance of winning an Oscar for best picture, but it doesn't mean it will happen for sure.

By city, San Antonio has over a million. St. Louis (on it's own) doesn't even have half of that.
