Anyone whos ever been to both cities knows this isnt even a contest..Houston will never be in the same league as Chicago whether they pass them in population or not.

I think Minnienapolis, Dallas, Detroit, or Atlanta are better comparisons with houston

And that's a respectable opinion...which can easily be argued.

And let's keep it straight: Houston does not want to be Chicago. The last thing we need is another makeshift New York. Houston is on the road to becoming something of its own.

If you cant figure out the point, than whats the sense of replying?

I've lived considerable time in both cities.
Chicago has it all over Houston restaurantwise. I found many more activities to do in Chicago than Houston; unfortunately, Chicago has so little free parking you can't get to the activities like in Houston--unless you are crazy about scratches on your car. You never parallel park in Houston there is so much space. Chicago is a fight just to find a parking spot. Shopping is better by far in Chicago if that is your thing. Museums are in Chicago.
Have to say that I would pick Chicago by far IF the city were cleaner and not loaded with such urban decay. Everything is old and dirty in Chicago, and it gets tiring.
I do like the Chicago people better as they say what is on their minds more. Houstonians tend to muffle the truth, and tell you what you want to hear more.
Houstonians are very clannish. Chicagoans are very independent.
Now...which do you prefer?
