Have to say that I would pick Chicago by far IF the city were cleaner and not loaded with such urban decay. Everything is old and dirty in Chicago, and it gets tiring.
Nice write-up! I enjoyed it, but have to question the above...
With alot of the city getting gentrified, and the downtown amongst the cleanest Ive ever seen, Im just curious where youre coming from. Wicker Park, Bucktown, Lincoln Park, Wrigleyville, etc, etc. all seemed VERY clean considering. What areas are you referring to? Just curious...

yea i agree
when i was down there in early april, downtown was extremely clean as well as the Lincoln park are. Also there was a lot of construction going on which i say (condos, buisness buildings etc) The only dirty and run downed parts of Chicago is the southside and west of the city
I like both cities alot, but I don't think you can draw any conclusions from a poll that has a total of 36 votes on it can you? I mean we are talking about the #3 and #4 largest cities in the nation. I do think that Houston is a polarizing city though, either people love it (those that have visited it and think for themselves) or people hate it (those that haven't been there and believe what the media tells them!).

interesting. how about ppl who have been there several times and don't like it?
btw - what does the "media" say to influence people into hating houston? i never hear about houston in my day to day life, and I'm sure I'm not alone.
