One time thru Chicago on the Ryan Expressway (nothing express about it!!) was enough to convince me it's the worst, although in all fairness I haven't driven through many of the cities listed. I just can't imagine much worse than my experience on the Ryan!!!

My vote goes to Chicago. Can anyone say theyve been in a traffic jam at 2am? I have, several times. Its that bad.

Surprised NYC is not a choice.

I picked San Fransisco.

D.C. is actually the third worst in the nation, but I believe San Francisco is second to L.A.

Hmmm, okay so no LA can be picked (been there, done that and it can be bad). So here is how I fare some of those cities named in no particular order:

1. Houston - YUCK!!!! Even 20 years ago the traffic on Houston freeways was awful 24/7. Getting from Dallas to Galveston is okay till you get to the north side of Conroe then it just stops and creeps till you get on into Houston. Houston is bad.

2. San Francisco - bad traffic ESPECIALLY on the day of the Gay Pride Parade. Yes, I've been there for that. Told the taxicab driver we would give him extra to get us around all of the mess and on to the airport to catch our flight that day. There is no where to park either if you did drive into downtown.

3. Washington DC - put your walking shoes on as your going to park at the first chance you can and end up walking the rest of it.

4. Miami - where was Miami on that list? It can be bad but not too bad.

5. Chicago - another city made for walking and not driving nor parking.

6. Denver - when I-70 coming from the new airport all the way thru town was all under construction - what a pain in the you know what.

7. Dallas - being a native I can navigate thru it pretty easily. Just takes knowing what side roads can be used, alternate routes and which lane to be in when. Piece a cake

8. San Diego - it can be bad. Even the drive between LA and SD can be a mess.

Hmmm, forgot the other cities on that list and no others stand out as much as the ones above.

Washington DC traffic > Chicago traffic

If you get hit in Chicago, at least you know from what direction you got smashed.

All of the cities are horrid for driving. I was stuck in a snowstorm for 5 hours in St. Paul/Mnpls 2 years ago! It was unbearable. I even peed my pants. I think New York tops any city for worst raffic!

St. Louis is the only major metro Ive driven in, so I have no clue how easy/hard it is in comparison. While I know my way around pretty good, the rush times can be pretty horrid, and there's no way in h**l I'd go through that everyday. Makes me kinda glad to be a hick
