These two cities manage to fly under the radar most of the time, so which would you prefer and why? This is for my own information as I've never visited Rochester, but have heard many great things about it.

Criteria
- Economy- Both should be about the same and both are doing well compared to national average but Louisville probably has a good expand base. So it gets the edge.
- Education: Rochester
- Diversity: Rochester
- Skyline: Louisville
- Weather: Louisville
- Public Transportation: No clue
- Attractions: City amenities
- Retail Mix: Nada, I am not very familiar with either
- Progressiveness: I never cared about this before
My answer: Louisville. If it was Buffalo against Louisville then I would go with Buffalo.
Economy- Looks like Rochester is edging out in the unemployment rate. But we are in a recession so it's hard to say.
- Education- Rochester with more prestigious colleges
- Diversity- Looking at the demographics with Rochester and pre-merger Louisville(the only fair way), Rochester appears more diverse
- Skyline- Louisville.
- Weather- Louisville
- Public Transportation- no idea
- Attractions- Both seem to offer plenty. Louisville has the Highlands. Rochester has the Park Ave/East End area. Louisville has well known events like the Kentucky derby. Rochester has lots of great ethnic festivals
- Retail Mix- not sure..... Rochester has many small boutiques where you can buy higher end clothing. I'm assuming Louisville has the same?
These don't seem like two cities where many people have spent lots of time in both....
rochester has nothing on louisville... louisville is a wayy larger city with a population of 721.594 and rochester is 219,773.. it should be compared with lexington not louisville and the only reason the metros are close is cause louisville is in a small state while rochester is in new york

That doesn't make sense, because Louisville and Jefferson County became one entity a couple of years ago. If Rochester did that same thing, it would have more people, because Monroe County has more people than Jefferson County/Louisville. So, the comparison makes sense in terms of county/city population and metro population.
If Jefferson county tripled its size in area ( equivalent to Monroe county's area size) then Jefferson county's population would be twice as big as Monroe county's population!
